French Turkish Translation

This is where you start treating translation as a craft rather than a bilingual exercise: you work through French source texts across genres (children's lit, news, ads, broadcasts) and learn to make register, style, and cultural framing land in Turkish. Most of the term is hands-on practice with parallel texts and comparative stylistics drawn from Vinay and Darbelnet, graded through two quizzes, a midterm, a final, and ongoing critique of your own renderings. It builds directly on first-semester French translation work and lays the groundwork for the more specialized translation and interpretation courses you take from second year onward.
