Introduction to Translation in English

Translation here is treated less as word-swapping and more as a decision-making craft: you learn to read a text for its function (does it instruct, sell, narrate, inform?) and pick strategies that preserve that function across English and Turkish. Most of the work is hands-on translation of varied text types — manuals, leaflets, IFUs, promotional copy, scientific passages — supported by Munday's framework so you have vocabulary for the choices you're making, plus quizzes and a midterm to check the theory side. As the first required course of the TRIN sequence, it sets the analytic habits and ENG-TUR working method that every later translation, interpreting, and specialized-text course will assume you already have.
