TRIN 122 is where you start treating translation as a craft of choices rather than word-swapping: you learn to read an English source for register, audience, and function, then rebuild it in Turkish so it actually works for a Turkish reader. Most of your time goes to translating real text types, legal contracts, medical IFUs, ads, popular-science pieces, plus some interpreting from recorded broadcasts, with quizzes, a midterm, and a final checking your decisions. It pairs with the Turkish-to-English side of your first year and lays the groundwork for the specialized translation, terminology, and interpreting courses that dominate the rest of the program.
