TRIN 191 trains your Turkish as a working instrument for translation, not just as a mother tongue you happen to speak. The focus is oral: pronunciation, diction, register, and active listening, built through in-class speaking exercises, discourse analysis on bilingual texts, and student presentations where your own speech gets analyzed. It runs alongside your first-semester English and translation foundations to make sure your target language is as disciplined as your source, sloppy Turkish output is what sinks otherwise competent translators later in the program.
