TRIN 212 treats translation as a human-machine workflow: the translator's job is no longer just rendering text but driving the tools that now sit between source and target. You'll work hands-on with SmartCat, Phrase, and SDL Trados Studio, run pre- and post-editing cycles on machine output, build terminology databases, and present your findings on what each tool does well or badly. Coming after your foundational translation courses, it's the semester where the craft meets the software you'll actually use in industry, and it sets up the more specialized translation electives that follow.
