Professional Communication for Interpreters

Less about learning to interpret and more about learning to operate as an interpreter, this is where you figure out how the job actually works once you step out of the practice booth and into a real assignment. You'll run through mock conferences, courtesy visits, and bilateral meetings in both consecutive and simultaneous modes, with case studies and practical exams testing how you handle ethics, register, booth manners, relays, and working into your B language. It sits late in the interpreting track, assuming you already have the technical skills from earlier consec/sim courses, and effectively prepares you for the contracts, clients, and collegial norms you'll meet right after graduation.
