Audiovisual Translation

Audiovisual translation lives at the intersection of language and media, meaning here isn't just in the words but in how dialogue lines up with image, timing, and performance, and your job is to translate that whole package rather than the script alone. You'll work through hands-on dubbing and subtitling exercises on real clips, wrestling with lip-sync, reading-speed limits, humor, and culturally loaded material, with two projects and practical finals testing whether your output actually plays. Coming late in the TRIN sequence, it takes the translation instincts you've built in earlier courses and forces you to apply them under the technical and modal constraints that define professional AVT work, including accessibility modes like SDH and audio description that are increasingly required in the industry.
