Translation workshop for EU texts and official documents

EU texts are their own beast: a hybrid of legal, political, and bureaucratic discourse where a mistranslated term can shift the meaning of a directive or distort Turkey's accession dialogue. You'll work through real material from EU institutions — directives, regulations, EP resolutions on Turkey — translating from English and French into Turkish while building the terminological and conceptual grounding to handle them responsibly. Assessment is heavily practical (two midterms, two finals, projects, in-class work), and the course sits at the applied end of the TRIN curriculum, training you for the kind of institutional translation work the EU and Turkish ministries actually commission.
