Advanced Simultaneous Interpreting II

This is the capstone simultaneous interpreting course where you move from being someone who can keep up in a booth to someone who can actually work a real conference. You'll spend most of your time in booth simulations across wildly different domains — diplomatic summits, financial briefings, scientific panels, legal proceedings, press conferences — with a heavy emphasis on pre-conference research, glossary building, and managing décalage under pressure. Assessment is almost entirely practical (two midterms and two finals in simulated conference conditions), culminating in a full mock conference with rotating booth partners. It's the final bridge between coursework and professional accreditation, so treat every drill like the real thing.
