Analysis of the cultural history of the Ottoman Empire from 1453 to the period of Turkish Republic. Topics include social and cultural structures of the Ottoman Empire, language, literature and artistic tradition, and analysis and interpretation of some significant works (divan's, biographies of poets, kaside's, memoir's).
