Application Lifecycle Management

CS 453 zooms out from "how do I write code" to "how does a real engineering organization keep software alive over years, across teams, and through constant change" — basically the Software Engineering at Google playbook, with guest speakers from industry walking through the ALM tools that hold it all together. You'll spend most of the term on a group project that touches the full pipeline (requirements, design, agile planning, source control, build, test, change management) plus homeworks and a couple of quizzes, ending in group presentations. It's the natural follow-up to CS 319's intro software engineering experience: where 319 teaches you to ship one project, this teaches you the processes, tooling, and tradeoffs that let hundreds of engineers ship the same product for a decade without it collapsing.
