Research Methods in Economics II

The capstone of the senior research sequence, where you actually execute the project you scoped out in the fall: pick a defensible empirical or theoretical question in economics, build the methodology to attack it, and write it up as a real academic paper under a faculty mentor and second reader. Most of the term is one-on-one supervision rather than lectures, punctuated by a proposal, two draft submissions, and presentations where you defend your design choices in front of the department. It's the moment your econometrics, micro, and macro coursework stops being problem sets and becomes evidence you can produce original research, which matters both for graduate applications and for any analyst job that expects you to own a question end-to-end.
