This course aims to offer graduate students a comprehensive overview of the intellectual origins and the key theoretical approaches to contemporary International Political Economy (IPE). It also explores the major thematic issues of IPE including globalization, trade, money and finance, crisis, development and economic statecraft. The course also investigates the changing distribution of economic power in the global economy as well as new trends such as the increasing use of economic/financial sanctions and growing economic nationalism in the age of trade wars.
