FinTech Law sits at the intersection of financial regulation and emerging technology, asking how legacy frameworks built for banks and securities markets stretch (or break) when applied to payment institutions, crypto-asset service providers, open banking APIs, and CBDCs. You'll work through the EU regimes that effectively set the global baseline — PSD2, MiCA, the DLT Pilot — alongside Turkish counterparts and MASAK's AML rules, with two quizzes, an in-class case study, and a final essay on a topic you pick. It's a useful capstone-style elective after Banking Law and Capital Markets Law, since it shows where those doctrines are actively being rewritten rather than just applied.
