Italian II

LNG 142 picks up where the introductory semester left off and pushes you from absolute-beginner Italian toward the lower end of A2, meaning you stop assembling isolated phrases and start handling real situations: describing where you live, shopping for clothes, recounting what you did last weekend in the passato prossimo, and talking about your family. Expect a steady rhythm of in-class participation, homework, quizzes, and frequent graded performances (speaking and writing tasks) alongside a midterm and final, all built around the Volentieri! textbook. It is the natural bridge between LNG 141 and the intermediate Italian electives, and for most students it is less about memorizing grammar tables than about getting comfortable producing the language under mild pressure.
