Where intro psych treats the brain as a black box, this graduate-level course opens it up and asks what specific lesions, strokes, and structural damage actually do to cognition and behavior. You'll learn the cortical anatomy and vasculature in enough detail to reason backward from a patient's deficits to a probable lesion site, and you'll spend real time dissecting primary research articles rather than textbook summaries. The payoff is partly clinical reasoning and partly philosophical: once you see how cleanly damage to a few millimeters of tissue can dismantle language, agency, or personality, questions about free will and the self stop feeling abstract.
