Acting Techniques II-Singing

THEA 182 builds on the foundations from THEA 181 by pairing acting craft with the voice, treating singing not as a separate skill but as another channel for honest dramatic action. Most of your time is spent in the studio: running exercises, working scenes from a text, and steadily refining your own pieces, with multimedia screenings used to sharpen what you notice in other performers. Expect two midterms, a final, and a lot of self-directed rehearsal, since the bulk of the workload sits in individual preparation. It is a stepping stone toward fuller scene work later in the performing arts track, where character, text, and music have to land at once.
