Textual Interpretation and Analysis II

The second half of the textual analysis sequence, this course pushes you from reading plays as literature to reading them as blueprints for performance, working through the Renaissance-to-Realism arc to see how structure, character, and idea cohere into something stageable. Most weeks revolve around close analysis of a single text, including ones tied directly to your Junior Project production, culminating in oral presentations where you defend an interpretive reading. It's where the analytical groundwork from earlier semesters meets the practical demands of directing and acting, so the habits you build here feed straight into how you approach every script after.
