EDEB 605

East and West in Turkish Literature

EDEB 605 sits Türk edebiyatını karşılaştırmalı edebiyat ve kültürel çalışmalar tartışmalarının ortasına yerleştirir; mesele yalnızca metinleri okumak değil, ulusal edebiyat, Doğu-Batı ekseni ve dünya edebiyatı kavramlarının kendisini bir sorun olarak ele almaktır. Dersin büyük kısmı Said, Bhabha, Casanova, Damrosch, Moretti, Apter gibi isimlerin metinleri üzerinden yürütülen yoğun okuma ve tartışmaya, ardından bu kuramsal çerçeveleri Türk edebiyatı korpusuna uygulayan analizlere dayanır. Yüksek lisans düzeyinde kuramsal bir omurga işlevi gördüğünden, çeviri, milli alegori ve oryantalizm gibi kavramları kendi tez çalışmasında araçsallaştırmak isteyen öğrenciler için bir başlangıç noktasıdır.
