EEE 473 is where signals-and-systems theory gets pointed at the human body: you learn how physical phenomena (X-ray attenuation, NMR precession, acoustic reflection, gamma decay) get turned into images a radiologist can actually read, and what the math costs in resolution, contrast, and noise. The work is mostly problem sets on reconstruction, k-space, and imaging physics, plus a midterm and final — expect to do real derivations, not just memorize modalities. It builds directly on Fourier-based signal processing and rewards anyone heading toward biomedical imaging, MR research, or medical device work, where understanding why an image looks the way it does matters as much as the image itself.
