This graduate seminar treats gender not as a "topic within" IR but as a lens that rewrites what counts as global politics in the first place — whose labor sustains the state system, whose voices were erased from the canon, and how power operates through bodies in war, trade, migration, and digital space. You'll read foundational feminist IR (Enloe, Tickner, Runyan) alongside decolonial correctives like Oyěwùmí, then produce two essays and a research paper that put these frameworks to work on a case of your choosing. Expect a discussion-driven room rather than lectures; the payoff is a toolkit that travels into security studies, IPE, and policy work where ungendered analysis quietly misses half the picture.
