Technology moves faster than legislation, and this course is about how legal systems try to catch up — figuring out which existing doctrines stretch to cover cybersecurity, AI, blockchain, or IoT, and where genuinely new frameworks like GDPR and KVKK had to be built from scratch. You'll work through current controversies in class discussions, write up an individual or group analysis, and sit a midterm and final, with most of the learning happening through arguing about real cases rather than memorizing statutes. It sits comfortably as an elective for upper-year law students who already know contracts and IP basics, and it's where you start thinking about the kind of practice that didn't exist a decade ago.
