Where Biochemistry I focused on the machinery (proteins, enzymes, catalysis), this course traces how that machinery actually runs a cell — following carbon and electrons through glycolysis, the citric acid cycle, oxidative phosphorylation, and the lipid and glycogen pathways that store and release energy. You'll work through Stryer alongside primary literature, presenting papers and grinding through case studies where you reason about flux, regulation, and what breaks when a pathway misfires. It's the metabolism backbone that later courses in cell biology, molecular genetics, and any wet-lab research will assume you already have internalized.
