Symphony Orchestra III

The third installment of Bilkent's compulsory ensemble sequence, where you're placed into the Youth Symphony, the chorus, or a project-based ensemble depending on your principal study, and the real work is the rehearsal cycle that pushes a Baroque-to-contemporary program toward a public final performance. Expect weekly sectionals plus individual prep on your assigned parts, with the midterm and final functioning as performance checkpoints rather than written exams. By this third semester the focus shifts from learning to play in a section to actually owning your part inside a large-scale interpretation, which is the skill the upper-level performance and conducting courses assume you already have.
