The follow-up to PHYS 541, this course pushes Maxwell's equations into the regimes where they get genuinely hard: fields that radiate, charges moving near c, and matter that responds back through plasma and MHD effects. You'll spend the semester working through Jackson — waveguides, multipole radiation, scattering, relativistic dynamics, bremsstrahlung, and the self-field problems that haunt any honest treatment of a point charge — with problem sets, a presentation, and two midterms anchoring the work. It's the capstone of undergraduate E&M and the language you need before QFT, accelerator physics, or anything astrophysical where radiation matters.
