This course aims to consider a range of fundamental concepts in political theory, not for the purpose of introduction, but for the purpose of reflection. These concepts will be democracy, justice, ideology, liberty, party, politics, power, public opinion, representation, revolution, rights, rule, state etc. The intention of the course will be an intensive study and discussion of writings on these concepts. The basic text will be "Political Innovation and Conceptual Change" eds. Ball, Farr and Hanson.
