Graduate-level seminar built around one organizing question: when does cognition run on automatic pilot versus deliberate control, and how do researchers actually tease those apart? You'll read primary literature across memory, social cognition, and evaluative learning, present articles, take quizzes, and develop a research proposal that you pitch to the class. It doubles as your initiation into scholarly work — critical reading, literature search, and academic writing — so it sets the foundation for the kind of thinking the rest of the PSYC graduate program expects from you.
