Architectural Design Studio V

Studio V is where the conceptual moves you've practiced in earlier studios have to survive contact with real building systems — you're designing complex projects that hold together as form, structure, material, and social intent at once, with phenomenology (Norberg-Schulz, sense of place) sitting alongside construction logic. The semester runs on the standard studio rhythm of concept development, two interim reviews, a pre-jury, and a final jury, and most of your grade is presentations plus participation rather than written exams. Coming after the technically loaded third-year studios, this is the one where you start operating like an architect dealing with context, community, and program generation, setting up the graduation project in ARCH 402.
