Architectural Design Studio V

Studio V is where the conceptual moves you've practiced in earlier studios have to survive contact with real building systems, you're designing complex projects that hold together as form, structure, material, and social intent at once, with phenomenology (Norberg-Schulz, sense of place) sitting alongside construction logic. The semester runs on the standard studio rhythm of concept development, two interim reviews, a pre-jury, and a final jury, and most of your grade is presentations plus participation rather than written exams. Coming after the technically loaded third-year studios, this is the one where you start operating like an architect dealing with context, community, and program generation, setting up the graduation project in ARCH 402.
