Architectural Design Studio IV

Studio IV is where the studio sequence stops treating buildings as isolated objects and forces you to design at multiple scales at once — a single intervention that has to answer to its site, its neighbors, and the urban fabric around it. You start in a group, reading a real site and developing a shared site plan, then peel off individually to push one building through material, structural, and environmental resolution across a series of crits, pre-jury, and final jury. It's the semester that bridges the earlier object-focused studios and the more research-driven work of fourth year, and the multidisciplinary, multi-scale habits you build here are what later studios and your professional practice assume you already have.
