Special Topics in Architectural Design

An elective design studio where you build a real project around a social theme, treating architecture as a form of cultural production rather than just space-making. You'll work through semiotics, relational aesthetics, and archival thinking before landing in a hands-on workshop, with assessment split across labs, presentations, and a collaboratively constructed final piece. It sits late in the architecture track as a place to test studio skills against contemporary art discourse and cross-disciplinary methods, so expect less "program and site" and more negotiating meaning, materials, and authorship with your peers.
