ARCH 465 traces how twentieth-century Western architecture argued with itself, from the late-CIAM crisis and Team X through autonomy, postmodernism, critical regionalism, and the digital turn, treating buildings as positions in a long theoretical conversation rather than just objects to admire. You read Frampton, Colquhoun, Heynen, and Haddad alongside lectures, then put that reading to work in three homeworks, an oral presentation, a midterm, and a term project built around in-class reviews.
