Adaptation in Media is a graduate seminar that treats adaptation not as a question of "faithfulness" to a source, but as the cultural machinery by which stories migrate across film, literature, TV, games, and comics — and how that migration builds franchises, crosses cultures, and reshapes meaning. Most of your time goes into reading adaptation theory, discussing it weekly, and building toward a conference-ready research project, with the three Watchmen versions (the 1987 comic, Snyder's 2009 film, Lindelof's 2019 HBO series) anchoring a sustained case study. It sits on the theory side of COMD's graduate offerings, so expect to write and present rather than produce media, and treat it as training for the kind of critical argument you'd defend in a thesis chapter or at a conference panel.
