Sound is treated here as a designable medium in its own right — something that shapes how images, spaces, and interactive works are experienced, not just a layer added on top. You'll spend most of the semester in studio mode, working through case studies and short practical assignments on signal flow, spatial audio, and immersive applications before building toward a term project that you present and defend in peer review. As a graduate elective in Communication and Design, it sits next to the program's visual and interactive media tracks, giving students who come from film, game, or interaction work the technical and aesthetic vocabulary to actually author the sonic side of what they make.
