Introduction to Web Design

CS 154 is a hands-on introduction to building websites from scratch, focused on getting comfortable with the three pillars of front-end work, HTML for structure, CSS for presentation, and a first taste of JavaScript and Bootstrap for layout and interaction. Most of your time goes into weekly lab exercises that build up to a midterm and final project where you actually ship a standards-compliant, responsive site rather than just answering questions on paper. It's a service-style course with no real prerequisites, useful as a gentle on-ramp before CS 319 or any later work where you need to put a UI on top of something, and a practical complement to the more theory-heavy core CS sequence.
