Interactive Media Design and Development

CS 155 is an introduction to thinking about computation as a medium for design, where code becomes the material you shape sketches, animations, and interactive pieces out of rather than just a tool for solving abstract problems. You'll work almost entirely in Processing, building up from shapes and color to loops, classes, and input handling through weekly exercises that culminate in a midterm and final project of your own design. It's a gentle on-ramp for students drawn to the visual and interactive side of computing, and the habits you pick up here, structuring sketches with objects, handling user input, working with images, carry directly into later HCI, graphics, and game-oriented work.
