Visionary and Future Environments

Speculative design studio where you treat outer space (and other extreme environments) as the site for a semester-long settlement project, working backwards from human needs — physiological, psychological, social — to a habitat that could actually house them. Most weeks are studio time: biomimetic research, iterative design development with crits, and two preliminary juries before the final review, all produced in digital medium. It pushes the core IAED toolkit past earthbound assumptions, so the value is less the spaceship and more learning to design rigorously when no precedent, code, or context exists to lean on.
