Special Topics in Interior Design I

This special-topics elective turns the interior design lens toward the stage, treating theatre as a designed environment where space, light, and narrative have to serve a script and a live audience. You'll read and analyze a play, then work through iterative design critiques to produce a scene design and a lighting scheme for it, supported by weekly homework, two presentations, and a final jury. It sits outside the core studio sequence as a chance to apply spatial and atmospheric thinking to performance, useful background if you're drawn to exhibition, event, or experiential design later on.
