Introduction to Systems Engineering

ME 102 is where mechanical engineering stops being a collection of separate subjects and starts being a way of thinking about whole systems — how components, tolerances, reliability, and human use all interact across a product's life cycle. You'll spend the semester building Solidworks fluency week by week, sitting through case studies of real engineering failures, and then putting it together in a group project that ends in a competition, with quizzes and a midterm checking the systems-design and statistics material along the way. It's an early ME course meant to give you the design vocabulary and CAD skills you'll lean on in every later studio, lab, and capstone.
