Machinery Dynamics

Machinery Dynamics is where you stop treating mechanical parts as static shapes and start reasoning about how linkages, cams, and gears actually move and transmit force — the geometry and kinematics behind every engine, robot arm, and folding mechanism you'll later design. Expect weekly problem sets built around loop-closure equations, position/velocity/acceleration analysis, and force balances, plus a synthesis project where you design a mechanism in GeoGebra to hit specified motion requirements. Coming off statics and dynamics, this is the course that gives you the vocabulary (DOF, Grashof, transmission angle) you'll lean on in machine design, robotics, and any later course where things have to move on purpose.
