Senior Project II

The capstone of the physics degree, where you take a real research question and see it through from literature to results under a faculty advisor, usually continuing the work you started in PHYS 491. You spend the semester running the project largely on your own: reading the relevant papers, doing the calculations or experiments, meeting with your supervisor and their group, and producing a written report plus a final presentation. It's the closest thing to graduate-style research in the undergrad curriculum, and for most students it's what tells you whether a PhD is actually for you.
