A graduate seminar that trains you to think systematically about how research on the built environment actually gets done — not what architects design, but how scholars frame questions about architecture and defend the methods they choose to answer them. You work through a sequence of short assignments that walk you from problem definition and systems of inquiry into theory classification, research strategy, and finally a mapped thesis framework with an annotated bibliography, all discussed in seminar format. It's the methodological scaffolding for your master's thesis, so the payoff is direct: by the end you should be able to justify why your research looks the way it does.
