CTIS 255 builds the foundation for everything you'll do on the browser side: turning static markup into responsive, interactive interfaces by layering HTML structure, CSS layout, and JavaScript behavior through the DOM. Most of your time goes into hands-on labs and a project where you actually build pages — handling events, manipulating elements, wiring up forms — rather than just reading about them, and the final is a practical skills exam. Coming in your second-year autumn, it's the gateway to the rest of the CTIS web track (backend, full-stack, mobile web), so the fluency you build here in DOM thinking and layout debugging is what later courses assume you already have.
