Principles of Microeconomics

Microeconomics is really about how individual decisions — yours, a firm's, a government's — add up to the prices, shortages, and surpluses you see in everyday life, and how to reason about whether those outcomes are actually efficient. You'll work through demand-supply problems, elasticity calculations, and welfare analyses across market structures from perfect competition to monopoly and oligopoly, mostly on weekly homework sets plus two midterms and a final. It pairs with ECON 108 (macro) to give you the toolkit that every later economics, finance, and management course assumes you already own, so the habits you build here — drawing the graph, finding the equilibrium, asking who gains and who loses — stick with you for the rest of the degree.
