Introduction to Microeconomics

Microeconomics is the study of how individuals and firms make choices under scarcity, and how those choices coordinate (or fail to coordinate) through markets. You'll spend the semester building up the standard toolkit — consumer and producer theory, equilibrium, elasticity, monopoly and other market structures, externalities — through weekly problem sets, recitations, and two midterms, applying the models to real policy questions rather than just memorizing graphs. As a first-year required course, it's the conceptual foundation everything else in the Economics curriculum leans on, from macro to game theory to econometrics, so getting comfortable with the marginal-thinking mindset here pays off for years.
