This is essentially a guided apprenticeship in doing microeconomics research, where the lecture format gives way to you actually picking a strand of the literature, formulating a hypothesis, and defending it. Expect weekly readings and in-class discussions, a research proposal, a critique of an existing paper, a country case analysis, and a poster presentation built around your own project. It sits at the tail end of the economics curriculum as a capstone-style experience, leaning on the theory and econometrics you've already taken and giving you something concrete to point to if you're heading into graduate study or policy work.
