A capstone seminar where you stop consuming macro theory and start producing it: the semester is built around picking a strand of crisis literature, formulating your own hypothesis, and defending it as a written research report. Weeks revolve around reading-heavy discussions of financial, banking, sovereign-debt, currency, and Euro crises, with regular presentations and short reports that gradually scaffold the final paper. It sits at the end of the macro sequence, leaning on what you learned in intermediate macro and money/banking, and is the closest thing the undergrad program offers to a thesis dry-run before graduate work or a policy job.
