EMBA 521 gives MBA students the legal literacy needed to make managerial decisions without flying blind or over-relying on outside counsel, covering how obligations form, when contracts bind, how companies are structured and held liable, and where commercial activity intersects with competition, bankruptcy, and criminal law. You'll work through weekly problem sets and a project that apply doctrine to realistic business scenarios, with a written final as the main assessment. It's a survey rather than a deep dive, so the point isn't to turn you into a lawyer but to recognize legal risk early and frame the right questions when one is in the room.
