The capstone studio-seminar where senior Fine Arts students step back from technique and situate their own practice within the critical debates that shaped art from late modernism onward — minimalism, conceptualism, performance, feminist and identity-driven work, and the institutional critique that followed. You'll read theory (Krauss, Foster, Harrison & Wood) alongside weekly discussions, then produce research reports and projects that translate those positions into your own interdisciplinary, public-facing work. It's the bridge between studio training and a graduating thesis or portfolio: less about learning new movements than about defending where you stand among them.
