Visual Literacy treats images as a language you can read, decode, and write back in, not just decorate with — the workshop is built around the idea that designers need a working grammar of seeing before they can communicate visually. You'll move through a steady rhythm of drawing exercises, semiotics-driven assignments on rhetorical figures and metaphor, a pictostory, and a final illustrated project, with Arnheim, Elkins, and Mirzoeff feeding the conceptual side. It's an elective studio that sharpens the analytical and illustrative instincts you lean on across the rest of the graphic design track, from typography to advertising work.
