Anatolia I-Hunters,Farmers,Merchants in Prehistoric Anatolia

Anatolia I traces ten thousand years of human life on the peninsula, from the first post-glacial foragers through the Bronze Age caravan networks, while pushing back on the tired "bridge between East and West" framing in favor of Anatolia as a place where things actually happened. You'll read primary site reports and synthesis chapters from Sagona and the Oxford Handbook, write analytical assignments tying material evidence to historical questions, and sit two exams plus a final. It pairs with Anatolia II to give Archaeology students the regional grounding that later period- and theme-based courses assume you already have.
